I've been thinking. All right, I know it can be a pretty dangerous thing to do, but are you as confused as me?
If you read articles about Longridge in such earnest publications as Lancashire Life and Lancashire Magazine, those featured - usually shop and restaurant owners and . . . estate agents (!) - refer to village life/villagers etc.
In reality, we have a town council so what are we? Town or village! Is the description of Longridge just a clever marketing ploy to attract visitors to the 'Gateway to the Ribble Valley'? What do you think? Your comments are welcome. Make your views known here!
